Jammu, July 30, (Scoop News)- Emphasizing the need for including Jammu city in the proposed 100 Smart cities, President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today urged upon the Central Government to include Jammu city in the proposed 100 cities, which was announced by (NDA) “National Democratic Alliance Government” at the Centre recently.
Addressing a well attended rally of NMC workers rally at Jhiri in Marh Block, Jammu District, Shastri pointed out that “Including Jammu City in the list of 100 smart cities of the country would ensure more flow of funds to upgrade modernize civic amenities of one of the famous religious city.” in the country.
Shastri said that he has already sent three memorandums in support of this demand to Prime Minister, Finance Minister and Minister of State (PMO) recently.
Shastri added that Jammu city has lot of importance from tourism and religious point of views and the NDA Govt. would concede the aspirations of more 16 lacs people residing in Jammu city at the earliest and include the city in the proposed list of 100 cities adding that since the cost of living has increased in Jammu City, early including the city of 100 smart cities would benefit the salaried class with enhanced HRA and CCA.
NMC leader also demanded early release of 7 percent DA due from July in favor of both Central and State Government Employees and pensioners urged the Ministers to personally intervene and take steps at the earliest in view of inflation and hike in prices of essential commodities.
Release of 10 percent DA due from January last and 4th installment of the 6th Pay Commission arrears, removal all pay anomalies of clerical cadre in SRO 93, regularization of the services of all Daily Wagers well before Independence day, amendment in SRO 64, enhancing medical allowance to rupee one thousand per month, release of pending wages of daily wagers working in irrigation and PWD departments and issuance of regularization order of 180 daily wagers working in the Rural Development Department were other demands highlighted in the rally.
Among others who also spoke on the occasion were Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Surrinder Kumar, Darshan Lal Bawa, Sudesh Kumar, Parmjit, Vijay Kumar, Sukhdev Singh, Karan Singh, Ravinder Kumar and many others.
