No Cash in Chitral Banks

CHITRAL: Due to non availability of Cash (money) in different banks including state running bank of Chitral customers face great problem. A local lawyer Zafar Hayat Advocate said that he visiting his bank from Morning but he was returned his cheque due to no cash in Bank as a result he could not purchase sacrificial animal for Eid. Inamullah Manager Bank Islami told this scribe that this is responsibility of state running bank (National Bank of Pakistan) to provide money/cash  to all banks in its jurisdiction. In this connection when this scribe contacted Zahirullah Manager National Bank of Pakistan Main branch he said that being a representative of State Bank of Pakistan this is fact that we are responsible for provision of cash to all banks but we are getting very less cash. He said that we get only200 million from Peshawar in which we pay 90 million to Chitral Scouts, 40 million to Chitral Police 30 million each to our branches at Drosh and Booni and the remaining amount is disbursing  to other banks. We have already demanded for enhancement of this amount from 200 to 500 million but action on the same is still awaited. 

Another person was standing in front of National Bank he alleged that the bank not issuing him money his brother have sent some money to him from Saudi  Arabia through western union but post office and Bank of Khyber not paid him this money due to no cash with them. On one hand there is no cash in Chitral Banks but on other hand shopkeepers also have  sharpen their knives and charging double price of things on the eve of Eid shopping. Customers enter a shop to purchase some thing for Eidul Azha but when he listen price of that commodity he shock  like electric current and came out back without any shopping. Unfortunately government and administration badly failed to overcome hoardings, dearness enhancing prices, looting poor people and charging double price of essential things on the occasion of Eidain or any other religious ceremony as comparative to other countries where Non Muslims selling these things on discount price on such occasions.
