No fresh passenger vehicles would be allowed on NHW-1A from either Jammu or Srinagar on Thursday owing to clearing blockage of roads due to heavy snowfall, landslide and damaged standard vehicles on route.
Highly placed sources within traffic police department revealed that, midway route of Jammu and Kashmir national highway stiffed due to heavy snow, dented roads and standard vehicles become route cause for slow movement vehicular traffic on both sides, however, efforts would be made to clear the stranded trucks, including Oil, LPG, and Essential Commodities etc.
While speaking to Kashmir Images Inspector General of Police (IGP) Traffic Hemant Kumar Lohia said, difficulties for national highway authorities which were bound to clear routes, so we have to clear middle convey of standard trucks and urgent maintenance of remained work.
“No fresh vehicular movement on both sides of national highway” he added there were thousands of standard vehicles were still on national highways which become cause of concern of authorities, however several vehicles were damaged which needs to be shifted by cranes.
Some remaining work like damaged road, that why decision has been taken that, no fresh vehicles would be allowed through Nagrota, he added
Meanwhile, there were 2000 vehicles up-down in either sides of Jammu and Kashmir national highways today but faced lot of difficulties because of stiffed routes.
