No Ladaki Judge in JK High court: Tsering Samphel

Jammu/Leh,March 22 (Scoop News) – District Congress Committee, Leh, and Former MLA  Tsering Samphel  today said that for last about 63 years the people in Ladakh have been clamouring for their due representation in all fields of governance but have not received favourable response till now.

 

Tsering Samphel while talking to Scoop News in Jammu said that there is a serious feeling among people of Ladakh and especially among Buddhist population that they never got an opportunity to serve as a Judge in the J&K High court.

 

He said there are senior advocates from Ladakh having adequate expereince and fulfill all the criteria  but they are yet to be elevated to the post of High Court Judge.

Tsering Samphel  has urged the state Governor NN Vohra to induct a resident of Ladakh in the J&K High Court as a Judge.

Submitting the demand before the Governor the former Leh MLA raised the issue of absence of any Ladakhi in the J&K High Court.

In his communication addressed to the Governor Samphel noted that while he served as member National Commission for scheduled tribes he had raised the issue with the Union Law Minister and also brought the issue in to the notice of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.
