Nooristani archery is one of the famous sports, which CAMAT [Chitral Association for Mountain Area Tourism] has revived during Jashan-e-Chitral since 2002. In the olden times the Nooristani people used to go on prey with these as effective armament. They also fought with each other with it. The locally made arrow and bow is used in the sport and people have high appreciation for it. The sport is one of the vital components of Jashan-e-Chitral or Chitral festival, which has been revived by CAMAT through the help of UNESCO after discontinuation for 25 years.
