Jammu, December 07, (Scoop News)- Noted writer Dr Kshama Kaul’s latest novel about Swami Amarnath Land row entitled ”Nikki Tawi Par Rehearsal ” was today released by senior hindi poet and critic Dr Omprakash Gupt in an impressive function organised by Sanmukh ,a forum for writers in exile attended by large number of writers,poets,artists,rtd judges,socio-political activists and several other public intellectuals of the Jammu city. Dr Omprakash Gupt while complimenting the exemplary efforts of Dr Kshama Kaul in documenting the historic swami Amarnath agitation lead by the common masses of Jammu region in the year 2008.Dr Omprakash Gupt underlined at length the literary and historical importance of Nikki Tawi Par Rehearsal’.He said that Dr Kshama Kaul has given a full space to the Jammu region and its people in her novel,as such allowing the rest of the world to know the injustice meted out to the people of jammu from time to time

On this occasion prof Sanjay Sharma was specially felicitated by the chief guest Dr Omprakash Gupt for designing the cover page of the novel with his colour on canvas painting of Dancing Shiva in anger.Noted music director Kuldeep Saproo presented the audio – visual presentation of great martyr of swami Amarnath agitation Late Kuldeep verma ‘s historical last poem reciting which he breathed his last .

Speaking on the occasion about the book,well known columnist and critic Ravinder Kaul said that ‘Nikki Tawi Par Rehearsal ‘ by Kshama Kaul is an exhaustive record of the 61 days agitation over Amarnath land row in which the people of Jammu for the first time in the history , rose in revolt against the separatist and communal mindset of Kashmir based politician .

The book is an invaluable document,painstakingly compiled by the author,about a period in the history of the trouble torn State when years of suffering,neglect ,political and economic deprivation,religious intolerance and regional bias found utterance in the form of a fierce struggle for safeguarding the religious ,political and economic rights of the minorities and people living in differing regions of State.

Noted poet and critic Dr Aruna Sharma while appreciating the author of the ”Nikki Tawi Par Rehearsal ”for inventing an innovative craft ,style of free expression besides usage satire as a potent instrument of protest in the Novel. She said that the writer has ruthlessly exposed the politicians who tried to hide the real intent of the separatists behind this row. She gave the detailed account of how Kshama Kaul, while writing this Novel ,has maintained the speedy flow of the narrative in a simple but intense language that expressed the anger ,protest and indomitable will to fight the enemy .She again complimented the author for striving her every nerve in the novel to highlight the truth of the people’s agitation against injustice.

Eminent contemporary hindi short story writer Jay Shree Roy in her write-up rated ”The Nikki Tawi Par Rehearsal ” as an excellent piece of resistance literature produced by a writer who along with her community members was thrown out of her homeland Kashmir in 1990 by the same forces on the basis of faith and that too in a country which calls itself a secular and democratic polity . In this background ‘Nikki Tawi Par Rehearsal ” is an eye opening novel to understand far reaching consequences of the theo-fascist operatives in Kashmir .She termed the novel a very powerful and breath -taking .Last but not the least, Dr Kshama Kaul read out some excerpts from her novel ‘Nikki Tawi Par Rehearsal.’Which were liked by the audience.
Among other national mainstream writers whose written comments on the novel were read out on the occasion included Narendra Mohan, Vijay Kumar ,Puran Chand Rath ,Dr Ranjana Argade ,Ved Rahi,Rahul Pandita ,Dr Rati Saxena,Mita Das ,Pravasini Mahakud,Hari Mridul.
