NY Cabbie Returns Lost Viola to Passenger

New York, NY  – According to published reports, a New York City cab driver performed a remarkably good deed by returning an 18th-century viola to a passenger who forgot it in the back seat of his car. The viola was worth thousands of dollars.

The Associated Press reported New Jersey Symphony violist Ann Roggen as saying, she was "heartbroken" when she found out she had forgotten her viola in the cab.

Roggen said, she called the NYC’s 3-1-1 help line after she realized her viola was missing Thursday.

On Friday, city Taxi and Limousine Commissioner Matthew Daus personally delivered the $40,000 viola to Roggen.

According to the commission, taxi driver Deniz Getting is slated to receive an award for returning the instrument, reports AP
