While addressing a small crowd at a town hall meeting, US Democratic frontrunner Barack Obama has decided to shift the focus towards going “green.” According to Jen Psaki, a spokesperson with the campaign, Obama’s top priority is to educate the voters of Ohio on Obama’s policies.
So far, Ohio and Texas are the two “must win” states for Hillary Clinton.
“We’ve had all these large rallies, including several in Ohio,” Psaki explains. She adds: “The priority now is to talk to voters about jobs and the economy. One of the ways he feels we can renew our economy is by investing in green technology.”
While at Hocking College, Obama spoke to both college professors and those that own small businesses. He said that it is important to invest in the green technology in order to strengthen the economy of rurual Ohio.
“Green jobs are the jobs of the future, not just because they pay well and can’t be outsourced. And not just because they’ll help strengthen our economy and lift up our middle class. But because they’ll help reduce our dependence on foreign oil, and save this planet for our children,” Obama explained.
The message of going green is supposed to do well with the Appalachia region according to Obama’s campaign. Clinton still has a lead over Obama in Ohio. However, polls show that Clinton and Obama are in dead heat in Texas.
