US president-elect Barack Obama has already begun putting together his administration just a day after securing a historic victory over John McCain.
The 47-year-old has apparently already offered the position of White House Chief of Staff to Rahm Emanuel, a politician in Obama’s home state of Illinois.
Several names have also been linked with a string of other positions.
Mr Obama will work closely with President George W Bush during the next 10 weeks to ensure a smooth handover of power in January.
He has announced that his transition team will be headed by John Podesta, former President Bill Clinton’s last chief of staff in the White House.
