While in Rhode Island, one of the four states holding its primaries on March 4, Barack Obama went after rival US Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton again. In response to the ad recently released by Clinton’s campaign, Obama is going to group her in with both US President George W. Bush and GOP frontrunner John McCain.
“Real change isn’t calling NAFTA a victory and saying how good it was for America until you decide to run for president, like Senator Clinton did,” Obama said starting his offensive on Clinton. He then added: “Real change isn’t voting for George Bush’s war in Iraq and then telling the American people it was actually a vote for more diplomacy when you start running for president.”
It would look as if Obama intends to use the “flip-flop” card on Clinton. He would continue his hard offensive on Clinton before the March 4 contests. Texas and Ohio are considered to be “must win” states for Clinton. Her husband, former US President Bill Clinton acknowledged that Hillary Clinton must win both Texas and Ohio or it will kill her candidacy.
“I think she was here, right in this room and she was saying. ‘He thinks that the clouds will part and he’s so naïve, he thinks he can wave a magic wand and suddenly everything will be great’,” Obama said mimicking Clinton. He then added: “It is true that I talk about hope a lot out of necessity, the odds of me standing here are very slim.”
There is a high chance that Obama could win possibly win Rhode Island as the state is small enough like Delaware. In Delaware, Obama had won enough delegates to win the state. However, Obama still trails Clinton in the state of Rhode Island.
Currently in Texas, Obama and Clinton are in dead heat.
