Within the week, Democratic Presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama of Illinois has received several hefty endorsement, let alone Republican endorsements. Perhaps the most powerful endorsement let alone GOP endorsement was on Sunday, October 19, where Colin Powell gave his support for Obama.
So far, Powell has turned out to be extremely valuable backup for Obama.
On Thursday, Obama has received an endorsement from former Republican Governor Arne Carlson of Minnesota. According to Carlson, the GOP has veered away from the moderate philosophies.
In that regard, Carlson considers himself to be a maverick for supporting Obama. But, this is not the only reason Carlson is endorsing Obama. Another reason is because he didn’t like the coming out from US Representative Michele Bachman of Minnesota for giving off the suggestion that Obama was anti-American.
That is one GOP endorsement for Obama.
Today, Obama received another GOP endorsement. Former Republican Governor William Weld of Massachusetts has given Obama his endorsement. According to Weld, Obama has a sense of calm and temperate that is A-class.
“It’s not often you get a guy with his combination of qualities, chief among which I would say is the deep sense of calm he displays, and I think that’s a product of his equally deep intelligence,” Weld said.
That is another GOP endorsement for Obama.
In short, Obama has been scoring several GOP endorsements during the week. Perhaps in the days counting down to Election Day on November 4, Obama will score a few more extra GOP endorsements.
