Prelude to the Ohio Democratic primary in which is one of the two “must-win” states for US Democratic hopeful and co-frontrunner Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama has decided to go after her key voting bloc: women voters that are over the age of 50. If Obama manages to woo the voting bloc, it would strengthen his momentum.
Colleen Hunninghoff, one of the women that attended the roundtable on retirement security hosted by Barack Obama said she understands why the young voters are attracted to him. But, she wanted to know what separated Obama from Clinton.
“We’ve been doing well amongst more experienced voters as well,” Obama said to Hunninghoff.
“I’m a Democrat but there are people out there who are Republicans and we’ve got to be able to cross the aisle in order to get things done,” Obama explained. He would also take the opportunity to attack Hillary Clinton. Obama had said that Clinton has taken money from special interests while not taking the issue of lobbyists very seriously.
“I think I take it a lot more serious than Senator Clinton does,” Obama has explained. He adds: “She doesn’t mind taking money from those sources and I don’t see that as central to the changes that are needed.”
It is unknown whether or not if Barack Obama will chip away voters from Hillary Clinton’s voting bloc. If that is the case, there is a high chance that Barack Obama could win Ohio from Hillary Clinton.
