As United States Election Day 2008 has kicked off, Karl Rove, the former Deputy Chief of Staff under current US President George W. Bush, has given his two cents on the US Presidential race between Democratic nominee Senator Barack Obama of Illinois and GOP nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona.
According to Rove, Obama is expected to win by a landslide. He gives the prediction that Obama is going to win over 300 votes. At least 270 votes are needed in win the presidency. Rove predicts that McCain will get about 200 electoral votes.
Overall, Rove predicts that Obama will score victories in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Colorado, New Mexico, Minnesota, Iowa, and Virginia. Florida, Ohio, and Colorado are crucial battleground states.
The last few polls have revealed that Obama has been doing well in states that Bush had won back in 2000 and 2004. As a result, it has forced McCain to play defense in the red states.
Also, Virginia is traditional stronghold for the GOP. Overall, Rove predicts that Obama will score a major victory.
