ODA Used by China to Invade RP’s Sovereignty

Treason, this is what the concerned Filipino nation feels about their government’s sell out of the Philippines sovereignty to mighty dragon China. It started when the Philippine government and the People’s Republic of China inked a pact in 2004 called “Agreement for Joint Marine Undertaking in Certain Areas in the South China Sea.”

Based on the agreement, China and the Philippines are to jointly explore 142,886 sq.km. of waters and ocean floor of which the area covered is not actually within the Spratly isles but within the legal territory of the Philippines which include the country’s tourist spot of Palawan. The one sided pact virtually allows China to claim the entire Spratly Islands including Palawan Province as its own possession.

The pact also forbids the Philippines to explore on its own territory of Palawan because it will violate its agreement with China. In this case foreign exploration companies like Forum Energy from Britain wasn’t given a permit to explore even though they have already surveyed 248 sq.km. of Palawan seas in 2002 which shows that the area surveyed has a big amount of gas reserves.

The agreement between PROC and RP were tied to the billions of dollars of Overseas Development Assistance loans and investments from Red China. PGMA favored China in this agreement clearly because it’s easy to deal with the Chinese where commissions flow freely without too much ado.

However, after the ZTE-NBN deal scandal was exposed, it’s not only the ODA loans and investment terms were violated, it now appears that the ASEAN Treaty with China was violated on the Spratly issue. And worst of all the sovereignty of the Philippines was absolutely violated. PGMA and her gangs committed treason. Even the US sounds alarm over the agreement of China and the Philippines.
