As everyone has surely noticed oil prices are going higher and higher which, in turn, is leading to higher food prices, higher living costs, and well pretty much higher costs for everything. So how are we expected to survive when a lot of us can’t even afford gas to go to work, the work that will provide the money for food and other goods we may need. With gas prices higher and food prices beginning to soar because of the rising oil prices even the rich people may begin to feel the sting if something isn’t done soon.
Supposedly Bush is going to have Cheney speak with the Saudi Arabian king when Cheney is visiting the Middle East this week. In doing this they hope to convince the king to convince OPEC countries to increase production to ease the pain at the pump. I know when Bush visited the Middle East last month the prices of oil dropped dramatically but only held low for a short period of time. This time maybe they will try to work out a longer term solution to ease the pain. If they can’t get this done other countries will hopefully step up and try to help pressure OPEC into increasing production of oil. Maybe if we have a united front towards OPEC they will get the hint and ease the world’s pain. Maybe we could even get the entire population of the world to get involved. We could start sending letters of protest or maybe even go as far as protesting gas for a couple of days. Something needs to be done soon. If we keep standing back and doing nothing who knows how far it will go and how much will all end up paying for it.
