Omar has expressed sympathy with the bereaved family. He also prayed for the peace of the departed soul and patience to the grief stricken to bear this irreparable loss.
Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Dr Farooq Abdullah has also expressed profound grief over the death of ex DGP of Jammu and Kashmir J. N. Saxena.
Dr Farooq has expressed solidarity with the grief stricken family. He prayed for peace to the departed soul and patience to the woeful family members to bear this irreparable loss.
Meanwhile Rich tributes were paid to former Director General of Police,
J. N. Saksena , IPS, former DGP J&K who expired on December 9 at his residence and his funeral rites were performed at Lodhi Road Electric Crematorium this morning.
Sh Raja Aijaz Ali IGP Crime J&K attended the funeral of Late J. N. Saksena Ex. DGP J&K on behalf of Kuldeep Khoda , DGP J&K and laid wreath on the body .
It may be mentioned here J. N. Saksena, IPS Ex. DGP J&K was seriously injured in the bomb blast which occurred in his office chamber on 24th January 1992 in which the then IG BSF Ashok Patel , the then IG CRPF.M K. Singh ,the then DIG Kashmir Rajan Bakshi and the then IGP Kashmir Veerana Aivalli also suffered grievious injuries in the blast. In recognition of his services to the Nation, the Govt. of India awarded ‘Pamdashree’ to him.
The Ceremonial Guard of IRP 8th Bn. (J&K Police) offered the solemn drill of Shok-Shastra to the deceased officer. The prominent dignitaries who attended the ceremony were. Former Governor of J&K G.C.Saksena laid wreath on the body of J.N.Saksena . A.K.Suri (Retd), former DGP J&K, Rajan Bakshi, DGP(Retd), Aijaz Ali, IGP Crime, J&K and Sunil Dutt, SSP CID, also laid wreaths on the body.
