Rajouri-J&K,February 13 (Scoop News)- “The 14 months period of J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah led regime is one of the worst period in the political history of the State. This dispensation is repeating the same blunders which were committed by the previous National Conference from 1996 to October 2002”, said the President of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday. She pointed out that in its three year PDP led regime has set new and progressive standard of governance
“From 2002 to 2005, neither scarcity of ration nor shortage of power or water emerged as bigger problems as has been erupted during the last 14 months in the State. With same infrastructure at his command, Mufti Mohammad Sayed has set an example of good governance and protected interests of the common masses and created an atmosphere of mutual trust and faith” she said while addressing a meeting of the prominent party workers at Rajouri.
Mehbooba said that National Conference led coalition has lost its credibility as the ruling party has brazenly reneged on all promises made with the people. “Instead of fulfilling the commitments made with the people, this regime has been trying to hoodwink the masses by giving confusing statements”, Mehbooba Mufti said .
“People of Jammu and Kashmir has lost faith on this National Conference led regime as this government has done nothing on ground”, she said, adding, “achievements of the governments confined only on papers as this regime is more particular about issuing press statements and conducting photo sessions to befool the people”.
She, however, said that gone are the days when National Conference used to befool the people by hallows slogans and false promises. “The growing alienation among masses is a clear indication that this regime has exposed before the people” she observed and said that it has now become clear that the present coalition has failed in delivering what it had promised.
“It is really a matter of concern that this dispensation is not realizing the ground situation. Instead of taking steps to address aspirations of the people the government adopting oppressive measures to stifle voice of the people”, she said while pointing towards recent killing of innocent people at the hands of security forces. PDP chief further said that coalition inability to assess the ground realities would be proved disastrous for the state.
“People has started comparing three years regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed with decade long mis-governance of National Conference”, she said and regretted that regretted that that National Conference had failed in carrying forward the process of political resolution initiated by the previous regime headed by Mufti Mohammed Sayeed. “The present government has failed even in consolidating the gains made by its preceding government. Not to speak of taking any fresh initiative the government had reversed the process by its failure to reach out to people in their hour of need.”,she said.
Taking a dig at ruling National Conference for staking claims on projects started during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, she said instead to taking some new initiatives this government has been gratifying itself by trying to lay claim on every good initiating made by the PDP led regime. “Be it the opening of cross LoC routes, construction of Mugal road or establishment of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, this regime has been brazenly trying put these projects in its accounts”, she said, however, hastened to add that people of the State in general and Rajouri and Poonch in particular were very aware that there projects were completed during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
