Normally, Father’s Day is the holiday to honor fathers across the world. It depends on when Father’s Day is observed and celebrated. In most countries, Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June.
The United States has two versions of Father’s Day with one being on the third Sunday in June. The other celebration is in early July. Still, the holiday is to honor fathers. For one father in Wales, Father’s Day was very devastating.
To “celebrate” his Father’s Day, 53 year old Brian Philcox had killed his two young children and himself. Philcox has been going through a split with his wife and children. He was afraid of losing his two children and everything else.
Philcox had risked losing his life savings and his house as well. In short, Philcox had risked losing “everything.” Neighbors had called Philcox as erratic as he faced a divorce from his wife. One neighbor heard Philcox complain about his situation about losing everything.
Philcox had dropped the F-bomb when talking about his soon to be ex-wife.
The method of death was a pipe from the exhaust to the window and into the car. All three of them had died from the carbon monoxide fumes.
He phoned his estranged wife, 37 year old Evelyn Philcox and said: “I have left you a present – I’ll make the papers, just you wait.”
There was even a bomb scare where bomb experts had to search the house. Over 100 residents had to be evacuated from the neighborhood.
Before death, Philcox worked as both a security guard and a Karate instructor. Philcox was also the vice-chairman for Karate England, the national governing body of England for Karate. He had the rank of a sixth dan in Karate.
On a side note, the article lists Philcox as 53. But the text underneath Philcox’s photo puts him at 37.
