On Social Behaviorism

Social behaviorism  is a theoretical position within sociology that views the individual and his interaction with other individuals as the basic unit of sociological analysis.

Social behaviorism is not atomistic since social concepts and generalizations on the group or societal level are definitely not rejected but are regarded as valid and meaningful in so far as they are based upon the behavior of individuals.

Social behaviourism embraces a variety of approaches including symbolic interactionism and social action theory.
