Srinagar,November 08, (Scoop News)- One Army Officer, 3 Jawans and one civilian porter get trapped in avalanche n the Frontier district of Kupwara.
A defence spokesman told Scoop News on Saturday evening that today at approximately 8 AM, an avalanche triggered at the higher reaches of Shamshabari Range resulted in one Junior Commissioned Officer, three Jawans and one r getting trapped in the Frontier district of Kupwara.
At about 8 AM today, an Army link patrol, operating in the areas South of Nasta Chun Pass were overrun by an avalanche, triggered from the higher reaches of Shamshabari Ranges. Army Avalanche Rescue Teams located at the Nasta Chun Pass were immediately launched and commenced the search and rescue operation. Search was in progress till receipt of the last information.
