Ransoo, (Shiv Khori)/Jammu, February 20 (Scoop News)– Over one lakh devotees from within and various parts of the country paid obeisance at the historic Shiv Khori Shrine Cave situated at Sanger hills just 3 kms away from Village Ransoo in District Reasi during first two days festival days of Shivratri Festival despite of inclement weather condition from last evening.
The District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Mrs. Sheetal Nanda who is also the Vice Chairman of the Shiv Khori Shrine Board (SSKB) disclosed that this shrine cave is emerging now as the 2nd ever famous religious destination after Shri Mata Vaishano Devi in the Reasi district. She further said that keeping in view the heavy flow of pilgrims during this Shivratri festival, the district administration Reasi have made all elaborate necessary arrangements which include security, drinking water, power supply, medicare facilities with ambulance, sanitation, fire services, yatra slip counter with announcement counter etc.
As a part of Shivratri festival, Song and Drama Division (GOI) presented colourful cultural programme at the base camp at Ransoo. The programme was comprises of Ganesh Vandana, Geetru, Choti umar mein shadi, Duet songs, Bhakhan besides the local educational institutions also participated in the programme.
Among others, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (Executive Officer SSKSB), Sukhdev Singh Samyal, District Youth Services and sports Officer, Reasi, Mela Officer, Gopal Singh, President Tour and Travel Association Katra, Surinder Khajuria, pilgrims in large number and local were present on the occasion.
Various social and religious organizations have arranged free langers for the visiting pilgrims at various locations of the base camp and enroute the cave shrine. The wrestling Completion would also be held on the third day was another highlight of the mela.
