Recent events in world affairs are getting complicated because diplomatic tensions are brewing up to its boiling point. The tensions were actually between the Turkish government and the US Congress concerning the massacre of Armenians by the Ottoman Empire in 1915. The US Congress would like to recognize the wrongs committed against the helpless Armenians and a genocide resolution is ready to be taken for approval by the lower house any time soon. The US government is concerned about the repercussions if ever the genocide resolution passed in the lower house.
But the most important thing here is that, the wrongs of history should be corrected no matter what the consequences it brings. All parties must be cognizant of the past mistakes committed in the name of the fatherland. The genocide of 1.5 million of Armenians would serve as the first step in cleaning the world’s deliberate mistakes. Islands, countries and boundaries should be returned to the rightful owners.
When we were brought and investigated in one of China’s police headquarters in Xiamen, hanging is a giant map greatly imposed on a wall inside of a conference room. There, I saw China’s territorial waters encompassing through or within the territory of its neighboring countries. To my great disbelief, my country the Philippines was almost part of China’s territory as the giant map suggest. The delineating lines drawn were nearly included the Philippines as part of China. This is really a matter of “virtual conquest” by China, which is alarming and totally wrong.
The world powers has a lot of explaining to do, and they should start now through the United Nations and spearhead a no non sense and factual corrections of all mistakes to settle lost possessions and dignities of all aggrieved nations once and for all. Are the American ready to lead?
