1 women died 3 affected by using expired ORS.
CHITRAL: As well as one woman died and 3 persons badly affected by drinking expired ORS at Weerkop village of Torkho Tehsil in upper Chitral. According to Station House Officer (SHO) police station Torkho Rahmat Azam that some persons were ill at the house of Muhammad Yaqub and they want to use ORS for rehabilitation of their health. Wife of Yaqub directed her small daughter to prepare ORS in 4 glasses water but unfortunately the ORS has been expired in June 2011 and she used the same expired one. SHO told that then they drank that expired ORS its taste was also worsen they badly affected and started vomiting and feel pain in their stomach. They were immediately rushed to Aga Khan Hospital Booni because the area is badly suffering lack of doctors and health facilities. After a few moments Zainab Begum wife of Muhammad Yaqub was expired while three members of their family were badly affected. They were Rahimullah son of Muhammad Yaqub age 28 years, Hazratullah son of Muhammad Yaqub age 15 years and Nahrila Bibi daughter of Rahimullah age 2 years. Hence they were discharged from the hospital after giving them first aid treatment. Torkoh police lodged report and started further investigations in poisonous case.
1200 Telephone lines still disconnected for the last one month.
CHITRAL: More than 1200 telephone Lines of Pakistan Telecommunication Limited (PTCL) have been disconnected for the last one month. This is third time that these lines are being disconnecting due to negligence of Communication and Works (C &W) and PTCL department. It is worth to mention here that C&W department working on by pass road at Chitral near Chew bridge who damaged main cable of 1200 telephone lines as a result these consumers are facing great problems for the last one month due to disconnecting of their telephone lines. C&W damaged this main cable third time during this year. Consumers of these 1200 telephone have warned that if their lines were not restored they will burnt their telephone sets in front of telephone exchange to register their protest. They appeal high ups of C&W and PTCL for early restoring their telephone lines.
Meanwhile after downpour and heavy shower flood erected in different nullas of Chitral like Chocho goal Chamarkun and Shahmiran deh villages. As a result pedestal (earthen) road of Shahmiran deh village badly damaged and people of the area facing great problems in transportation of food items to their houses.
