Oil ministers from 12 OPEC who met at Vienna, Austria decided to keep the oil production to the current level. Though some ministers wanted and pressed for the cut in production, others in favour of previous cut. As the demand for the ensuing year predicted to fall,they were keen to avoid another fall in the oil price.Prices have averaged $40 a barrel in 2009 compared with $100 last year..Another meeting is expected to be held on 28 May to consider whether further cut in production is necessary or not.
