Jammu, May 06 (Scoop News)- The Department of Cardio Vascular Thoracic Surgery of Super Specialty Hospital (SSH), Jammu today performed an open heart surgery.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Noor Ali, Head of the CVTS Department along with a team of doctors comprising Dr. Ishaq Mir, Dr. Arvind Kohli, Dr. Vivek Gandotra and Cardiac Anesthesia team headed by Dr. Pooja Vimesh.
The patient was having hole in the heart which was present since birth. In addition she was having multiple stones in the kidney and was also diagnosed some brain problem for which she had to take medicine for two months before she could be taken for surgery.
Similarly another patient was operated for large defect between the two chamber of the heart where oxygenated and un- oxygenated blood was being mixed, thus causing the problem.
The large defect was repaired by using patient’s own sheath (pericardium) around the heart.
