Out of India; out of Captaincy

Kolkata Knight Riders did a funny u-turn on the captaincy issue, which has already made quite a fuss after teams’ coach John Buchanan’s proposed the idea of having multiple captains in the KKR team. The issue was settled in India before the team’s departure, when team’s owner Superstar Shahrukh Khan denied any such ideas being implemented and also confirmed that Saurav Ganguly would be the captain of KKR team for IPL season-2.

But hours after the team’s arrival in South Africa, the team management made a funny u-turn on the issue by declaring Brandon Mccullam as the captain of the team for IPL-2 Season starting tomorrow. This move of axing Dada from KKR’s Captaincy has come as a big shock to all his die-hard fans in Bengal as well as the rest of the country. Earlier, even Sachin Tendulkar has supported Ganguly’s position, by describing him as the most capable person to shoulder the matter of captaincy of the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Although, Saurav was unavailable for comments regarding the decision, but it does seem almost sure that this decision might not go too well with the former India captain. And especially the way the KKR management handled the whole issue, it is sure going to make some sparks fly off the field, and who knows on the field too.
