Ramnagar/Jammu, October 7 (Scoop News) –The Annual Pingla Mata Navartra Yatra, organized by Akhand Jyoti Committee, concluded here today with an overwhelming participation of over 1.20 lakh pilgrims from different parts of the state.
MLA, Udhampur Balwant Singh Mankotia was the chief guest on the concluding ceremony of the yatra.
On the occasion, the MLA and Chairman Akhand Jyoti, Rajeev Jandial honoured Pitanjali Yog Peeth and Bharat Swabhiman Trust with O P Jandial Sadbhavana Award for their yeomen services for the cause of society. The award was received by State President of the Trust, Bansi Lal Sharma.
Organizer of the committee, Vinay Jandial informed that a proposal of Rs.12 crore Sarai and a library has been prepared and the work on which is expected to be started soon.
It is worthwhile to mention here that this year’s yatra had added significance as the committee had completed its 25 years with lakhs of devotees from different parts of the state and country as well paying obeisance of the shrine.
During the 9-day yatra, various cultural programmes were presented by the students of High Schools, Higher Secondary Schools, Degree College, local artists and several state cultural troupes.
In dancing competition, Sonal Thakur clinched the first place while Partiksha and Anju got the second and third position.
The famous troupe of local artists, Ramalo Ram and party was also honoured with Akhand Jyoti Award.
During the yatra, various social organizations including Katra Association, Kharaka Brothers and Ramnagar Youth Association organized free langer for the convenience of yatries enroute Mata Pingla Devi Cave shrine.
The committee expressed gratitude to the Tehsil Administration for elaborate arrangements of security, drinking water, power supply, sanitation and medicare made for the visiting pilgrims during the yatra.
