Over 13.5 lakh to vote for Udhampur LS seat tomorrow,Polling across Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban, Reasi,

 

Jammu, April 22  -– As many as 13.62 lakh voters will decide fate of 14 contestants on Thursday in the second phase of the five-phased Lok Sabha elections in Udhampur Parliamentary constituency (PC), which is going to polls along with 139 other constituencies spread over 12 states of the country. Voting for Bhaderwah Assembly bye-poll will also be held tomorrow along with the Udhampur Parliamentary elections.

For Udhampur Lok Sabha seat, a total of 17 Assembly segments spread over 6 districts will go to the polls with a total electorate of 13,62,382 including 8,654 service voters. Polling will be held from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow simultaneously at 1,972 polling stations set up across Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban, Reasi, Udhampur and Kathua districts of Udhampur Parliamentary constituency.

The campaigning in the constituency has been peaceful and star-studded with several national and state-level leaders addressing a large number of big rallies across the Parliamentary constituency.

As many as 14 contestants are in fray for Udhampur Parliamentary constituency, which includes four independents and one woman.

Those contesting election are Mr. Adrees Ahmad Tabbasum of CPI, Mr. Balbir Singh of PDP, Prof. Bhim Singh of J&K NPP, Mr. Rakesh Wazir of BSP, Ch. Lal Singh of INC, Dr. Nirmal Singh of BJP, Mr. Bodh Raj of Backward Classes Democratic Party, J&K, Mr. Rajesh Manchanda of Rashtriya Krantikari Samajwadi Party, Mrs. Kanchan Sharma of Bhartiya Bahujan Party, Master William Gill of All Indian Forward Bloc and Mr. Atul Sharma, Mr. Dev Raj, Mr. Mohammad Yousuf and Mr. Naresh Dogra, all independents.
