Over Muhammad Cartoon, ‘Bin Laden’ Threatens EU In Newest Tape

There was a new tape released on one of the Islamist extremist websites with an image of Osama Bin Laden, the Al-Qaeda leader. However, the image was a still image of Osama Bin Laden, it is unknown if it is really him or not. If the voice on the audio message is confirmed to be that of Osama Bin Laden, it will be his first message since November of 2007.

The latest message threatens the European Union (EU) over the reprinting of Kurt Westergaard’s Muhammad cartoon of a bomb in his turban throughout papers across Denmark. Originally, the cartoon was circulated back around 2005. It had brought forth violent protests from Denmark’s Muslim community.

Over 100 people were killed in the protests. Denmark’s embassies throughout the Middle East were destroyed.

However, the cartoon was reprinted last month in February in protest. It was revealed that there was an assassination attempt on Westergaard’s life. Currently, the cartoonist remains in hiding under police protection.

In the message, it said that the reprinting of the cartoon was part of the crusade by Catholic leader, Pople Benedict XVI.

Coincidentally, the new message comes on the fifth anniversary on the Iraq war.

On a side note, Westergaard’s Muhammad cartoon is up for sale. However, many auction houses are concerned about the dangers of physically auctioning it. There is a high chance that the cartoon will be auctioned online.
