Rapper Sean Combs, better known as P Diddy, is being investigated over allegations that he assaulted a man at a trendy New York nightspot, U.S. police said. Police confirmed Combs, 37, was a suspect in the assault at the Kiosk nightclub in the Soho area of Manhattan in the early hours of saturday.
A lawyer for the singer and actor-who has also been known as puff Daddy, puff and P Diddy-denied any wrong doing by his client. The victim told police that he and Combs had been arguing over a woman before the hip-pop mogul punched him in the face, police said,
They said the victim reported Combs shouted, ” I’ll kill you!” during the assault, while one member of his ebtourage made a gesture towards his waistband as if ready to pull a gun. They said the incident occurred at about 3.30am inside the club. Unnamed police sources told The New York Post the Victim was love rivals fighting over a woman who accompanied Combs to Cannes in France over the summer.
The alleged assault follows a series of incidents involving Combs and women, Combs split with his longterm partner Kim Porter, who gave birth to twins by him earlier this year, following reports that he made another woman pregnant at around the same time.
He was also associated with Jennifer Lopez when the pair became embroiled in a shooting in which three people were injured at a Manhattan nightclub. Combs’s friend, Jamal Shyne Barrow was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in the shooting.
