Pacquiao’s name missing on list of boxing champions

Many boxing fans will agree that Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao is known worldwide as a good boxer because of his unique fighting style, speed, and strength. Pacquiao is responsible for sending many Mexican boxers, one of them is Erik Morales,  to the canvas. But I find it surprising not  to find the Filipino boxer’s name in any of the boxing categories. I was expecting that his number of victories lately should have listed his name in the Super Featherweight category. But alas, his name is nowhere to be found.

I tried to review everything to make sure that his name would be there but nope. Instead, the name of Juan Manuel Marquez, 47-3-1 with 35 KOs, holds the 130 pounds WBC; Edwin Valero (22-0 with 22 KOs) holds the WBA; Malcolm Klassen (19-3-2 with 10 KOs) for IBF; and Joan Guzman (27-0 with 17 KOs) for WBO.

In the Featherweight Division, the current champions include: In Jin Chin, 31-3-1 with 18 KOs, WBC;  Chris John, 39-0-1 with 20 KOs, WBA; Robert Guerrero, 20-2-1 with13 KOs, IBF; and Juan Manuel Marquez, 46-3-1 with 35 KOs, WBO.

I think it is about time that Pacquiao should dethrone Marquez, Valero and Guzman, if ever he would have a chance to slug it out with one of them. However, his concentration right now is how to  win the congressional seat in his native General Santos City, Philippines, as an administration candidate, against a beautiful opponent.
