Police and Security Forces achieved a major success by eliminating one top dreaded terrorists of Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit in a fierce gun battle in the mountainous district of Reasi in
Police said that on specific information Army troops of (61 RR) and police launched a joint search operation in jungle area of village Jamlan Tehsil area of Mahore in Reasi district on Friday.
Soon after the forces reached the target area, militants who were reportedly three in number fired on them, triggering gunfight which continued for an three housr. During the encounter one top Lashkar ultra was killed and operation was going on.
The slain ultra has been identified as Lashkar self styled Top commander Mohd Ovais alias Abu Zindai of
Huge quantity of arms and ammunition has been recovered and the operation was going on till last reports.
In another encounter Police and army killed one HM militant in Poshwani, Pattan in
Police said that on a specific information Police and 29 RR cordoned village Poshwani, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Pattan, and started search operation. During search operation an encounter took place between militants and the joint party of Police and Army. In the encounter one HM militant Shamim Sada @ Rizwan son of Abdul Rashid Sada resident of Sada Mohalla Pattan got killed.
Kishtwar Police and Army apprehended an Over Ground Worker of LeT and HUJI outfit in Kishtwar district this evening.
The apprehended OGW has been identified as Akhter Hussain Shah s/o Ab Rashid Shah r/o Pati Mahaal Kishtwar.
Police said that the said OGW was a surrendered militant of LeT outfit and he had surrendered before 11 RR in year 2007. Now he was an Over Ground Worker of LeT and HUJI outfit and supplied Mobiles, SIM Cards and Army uniform to the terrorist of the same outfit.
