Swat, NW Pakistan: The Pakistani Prime Minister, Yousaf Raza Gillani, and Pakistan Army Chief Ashfaq Pervaiz Kiyani arrived in Swat valley today.
At circuit house, Major General Ashfaq Nadeem, in charge of operation “Rah-e’Rast” briefed prime minister about Swat operation.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister of NWFP, Amir Haider Khan Hoti, Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani and some ministers were also present in the briefing.
Pakistan army had started the operation “Rah-e-Rast” against the militant groups in Swat valley in the last week of April.
Most parts of the valley have been cleared from insurgents whether killed or captured by Pakistan army.
Some 3.5 million people were displaced as a result of the operation where were settled in different parts of the province in the IDPs’ camps (Internally Displaced People).
The life in Swat valley is going towards normal and the displaced families are returning home now.
