Pak ready for Mendis says Pakistan coach

"We have been watching videos of both of them specially Mendis and we will be ready for him. We have collected information but that is not for public consumption.” said Pakistan coach, Intikhab Alam

"We have seen videos of all his (Mendis’) recent matches and we will go out and be positive against him," he said.

"I think when you have players like Mendis around it adds to the charm of the game and unconventional players like him can help boost the popularity of Test cricket," said Alam.

"In the past there have been some bowlers like him Sonny Ramadin of West Indies, Gleeson from Australia and they always were a mystery for the batsmen because of their unusual bowling grip and variations," he said.

"Mendis is fast off the pitch and he has several deliveries.. The leg spin, the flipper and even bowls the off break. His grip is also very unorthodox and that adds to the problems faced by the batsmen to pick him up," Alam added.

"We are looking forward to continue our winning ways and repeat our performance of Abu Dhabi ( when Pakistan beat West Indies 3-0 in November) against the Lankans," he added.

"Sometimes what you show is an illusion of what will actually happen," he said and added "In Karachi, with the 12pm start, the early moisture will not be so much of a factor anyway."
