MUNICH:Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that a stable Afghanistan is in the interest of Pakistan.
Addressing at the 45th Security Conference on Sunday,the Foreign Minister said the civil war in Afghanistan has cast its worst impact on Pakistan which has so far spent 35 billion dollars on war against terror.
He said the international community should have played its role in rebuilding of social infrastructure in Afghanistan following the withdrawal of Soviet troops from there in 1989.But it unfortunately failed to do so.
Being ignored by world community,Afghanistan witnessed rise in poverty while absence of unstable government fostered extremist ideology in the war torn Country.This has also affected the southern borders of Pakistan.
The Foreign Minister said that Pakistan is playing an important role in reconstruction of Afghanistan.
