Mumbai, India (GroundReport) – According to latest Indian telvision reports, Lashker-e-Toiba commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhwi who is believed to be the mastermind behind the Mumbai attacks of 26/11, has been captured in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The arrest was made by Pakistani security forces.
However, reports have not confirmed the arrest of Lashker chief Hafeez Saeed.
Twenty members of the Laksher group are thought to have been arrested in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, following a covert operation by the Pakistan army, reports local news channel NDTV.
Interviews with Ajmal Amir Iman, who was the sole captured terrorist in the Mumbai attacks revealed that Lakhwi was one of those behind the coordinated attacks.
The arrest of Lakhwi comes on the heels of intense pressure from the U.S. government on Pakistan to initiate actaion against the Laksher group, cite reports .
