Pakistan Cricket Board reduces Shoaib Akhtar’s five years ban

On Saturday Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar got a great relief after his five years ban from Pakistan Cricket Board was reduced to eighteen months. Beside this he was fined $ 115000.

He was banned for five years due to a lot of violations of  Pakistan Cricket Board’s code of conducts. His five years ban came into effect from April 1, 2008 and he got a one month relief from the ban so that he could play for the IPL.

His one and a half year ban starts with a retrospective effect from April 1, 2008 and ends on September 30, 2009.

During this period he cannot play any cricket. He will miss a lot of matches both international & domestic . There is no clear idea as if he can play for IPL or not.
