Islamabad: Pakistani authorities confirmed the police have arrested three suicide bombers and their six accomplices Friday in capital Islamabad during the red alert.
The detained terrorists had planned attacks on high command officials, claimed police.
The authorities have taken three explosives-filled cars into custody and the detainees are shifted to an unknown place.
The terror plot has been unearthed on the occasion of the trial of 9/11 mastermind Khaled Shaikh in the United States.
Advisor to the Prime Minister, Rehman A Malik, confirmed in the Parliament meeting that a terror plot was foiled in Islamabad.
Meanwhile, there was an exchange of firing between the militants and the members of the Peace Committee in South Waziristan Agency but no casualties have been reported.
