Pakistan Government asks Taliban commanders to surrender

PESHAWAR: The government suggested to the militant commanders to approach the political agent concerned through tribal elders and surrender unconditionally as per tribal customs and conditions, in response to the offer of peace talks by the outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban (TTP) Bajaur Chapter.

They also added that the government would not talk to any group or individual unwilling to lay down arms and surrender.

The government had repeatedly reiterated its willingness to talk to militants who accept the writ of the government.
