Mumbai: After the deadly terrorists attacks on the Indian hotels, Taj Mahal, Oberoi and some other places in Mumbai, a fear was visible among the Pakistani authorities that India may restart the dirty-blame game, even the operation has not come to an end completely and things are still in the fog, but almost all the reports and news in the Indian media are just reports, lack in depth and proper analysis, but the Indian foreign minister Pranab Mukharjee appeared in the media and alleged Pakistan of these attacks, later on, Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh said that the roots of the Mumbai terrorists attacks are in the neighboring countries.
It is not new, whenever and where ever something goes wrong in India, all the eyes turn towards Pakistan, that is very unfortunate, things are changing in the region, and scenario is different now, but the Indian mind-set is not willing to accept these changes.
There are many movements going on across India, separatists, leftists and religious groups and these attacks could be a home-grown insurgency, planned and very much focused and targeted, but according to Indian establishment, some of these 10 insurgents came by boats to India from some unknown destination, that seems a security failure and serious lapse.
Now India has made a request to Pakistan, to send Pakistan intelligence chief to India to assist the investigation but after the Indian foreign minister’s threatening phone-call to the Pakistani establishment, the decision has not been made or to send some people from the Anti terrorist squad, on the other hand, when we look the terrorists attacks in India, either the parliament attack in 2001or the Samjhota train attack by the extremist groups in 2007,Indian authorities had shifted the blame to the Pakistan intelligence agencies and the groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and later on it was found those were done by home-grown terrorist organizations, nothing to do with Pakistan, the recent apprehension of the Indian serving colonel Parohat, who had assisted the Hindu terrorist groups to attack Muslims’ settlements and mosques, getting RDX from Indian military, a very visible example.
However, Pakistan president told the media that if strong actions will be taken against the insurgents, if any connection is found in Pakistan with any group, Pakistan has made it clear to NATO and US that if India does not stop this propaganda and escalates the tension, Pakistan will pull out the troops from the western borders with Afghanistan, and position them on the eastern borders with India, and then the war on terror will not be Pakistan’s priority.
Pakistan’s 100,000 troops are undertaking the operation in the tribal areas of Afghanistan against the insurgents of Taliban and Al-Qaeda, who are fighting in Afghanistan against the coalition forces.
Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi firstly in India and then in Pakistan, along with the Pakistan parliament unanimously condemned these terrorist attacks and asked the Indian establishment to act responsibly and do not jump to the conclusions abruptly, without having any clue and clear evidence, Pakistan and India both are coping with a common menace of threat, it is not the time to political point-scoring, Mumbai attacks are the India 9/11, he termed, he also urged the Indian and Pakistan media that play a positive role and feel the sensitivity of the issue, the meaningless and abrupt statements by the Indian establishment could only help the terrorists.
In a press briefing today, Pakistan Foreign minister made it clear that we have extended the hand of unconditional cooperation to India, our hands are clean and we are standing by India at this difficult hour and we are ready to share the information with Indian intelligence.
Now the time has come for India to behave like a responsible democratic entity and resolve the internal issues through proper negotiations & table talks and change the policy of confrontation, and stop blaming others.
