Indian Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon Tuesday said the composite dialogue aimed at confidence building between Pakistan and India will continue in future.
Briefing the media here, he said all matters including the Kashmir issue came under discussion in today’s meetings.
“Both the countries are willing to take forward the bilateral relations,” Indian Foregin Secretary pointed out.
The foreign secretary level meeting also discussed exchange of prisoners including Sarabjit’s case.
India promised to release some of the detained Pakistani fishermen.
Shiv Shankar Menon said a number of suggestions were given during foreign secretaries’ level meeting for improvement in cross-border issues. These include proposals for increasing travel and other facilities.
“The process of composite dialogue continues and these will ultimately lead to the resolution of all the issues,” he said.
To a question he said, it is difficult for him to say anything in connection with Dawood Ibrahim at this time.
Talks are underway on anti-terrorism and the incident of Samjhota Express is also a part of it, he informed the media.
“Both the countries want to solve the issues and therefore the composite dialogue will be continued,” he made it clear. Talks will also continue on Sir Creek and Siachin, he added.
