Pakistan Nukes::A midsummer nightmare?

 When Taliban, members staged a raid on a Naval base in Pakistan’s urban coastal port city of Karachi this week, every global intelligence and security service went into ‘a nightmare mode scenario’.

The site is 15 miles away from a major Pakistani Air Force nuclear weapons stockpile.

[]… “Taliban’s success in penetrating a Pakistan airbase and destroying some of the country’s newest surveillance planes has heightened concern that the military is unable to guard its own assets, including nuclear weapons.” ..;[] Bloomberg’s post attack analysis:

The is the third major attack since the death of Osama Bin Laden, and airstrikes versus the Taliban leadership that followed. Pakistan’s ISI or National Intelligence Service, in sworn testimony from captured Al Qaeda leaders has been liked to terrorist actions. Ranging the testimony of David Headly, a Pakistani-American who did survailance for , to Kalhid Sheik Mohamad, who admited the ISI helped in kidnapping of Daniel Pearl.

[]… Pakistan’s intelligence service and the Lashkar-i-Taiba terrorist group, alleging that Pakistani officers recruited him and played a central role in planning the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

David Coleman Headley’s long-awaited testimony at the start of a trial with international repercussions resolved one question at the outset: Federal prosecutors did not hesitate to connect Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate (ISI) to the attacks that killed 166 people, including six Americans. … [] Washington Post

In a story earlier put out by the Wall Street Journal, on ties between the ISI, Al-Qaeda, and, the Taliban.

A group of achademic schollars working on the Daniel Pearl case noted the clear ties between the Taliban, and Osama’s Al-Qaeda also how the late leader ordered his top Lieutenant, Kalhid Sheik Mohahamad to take over kidnapped hostage Pearl for execution in 2002. The study is veiwable online at the Georgetown Universtiy website.

Talbian raid on Navy Base far more embarrasing than Abbottabad:

No one doubted that US Special Force’s units like SEAL 6 or perhaps the UK’s SAS or even China’s Special Units, are capable to carry out a commando style attack, like the raid on Bin Laden’s hideout, in the northwest Pakistani garrison city of Abbottabad,  Those military forces, of the major powers – have billions of dollars in resources they are four generations ahead in technology in their ability to evade detection for a small force

This was clearly seen in the raid that US SEAL did in killing Osama Bin Laden, Stealth Helicopters, highly trained operatives, and tactical skills honed to perfection – allowed them to come in hit hard and leave. With few knowing what had happened until it was over.

Hence the attack on the Naval Air Station in Pakistan, which had all earmarks of the Mumbai massacre – came – a day before Headly’s testimony – on how a Pakistani Intelligence Service officer, gave him money, orders, and helped select targets in the attack in Mumbai that killed 161 people.
