PPP workers warn leadership
CHITRL: A protest meeting of PPP local leaders and workers held in Chitral Friday morning warned the higher leadership to shun adhocism and set the house in order other wise workers and members will have no option but to say good bye to the party. The meeting convened by Wg Cdr (r) Fardad Ali Shah was attended by senior PPP members, former Nazims, workers and elite of the town. The meeting was presided over by former Nazim UC Reshun Amirullah. and those attended included former Nazim UC Drosh Haider Abbas, former Nazim UC Chitral Riaz Ahmad, Former Nazim UC Ayun Rehmat Ellahi, former Nazim UC Khot Sher Aziz Beg, former information Secretary Shah Murad Beg, President Peoples Lawyers Forum Israruddin Advocate, President Peoples Student Federation Afnan Ali Shah, founder members and workers of the party, besides members of civil society and elite of the town.
Wg Cdr (r) Fardad Ali Shah said Chitralis should not be taken for granted and put at the mercy of outsiders to shape their destiny. He said people’s party as the name implies is made of people and ignoring the people means killing of the party. He demanded bold steps by the central and provincial leadership in announcing the district president and nominating candidates for the National and Provincial Assembly seats at this time instead of postponing it to the last minute which has always been done and has always spelt disaster for the party. He also condemned corruption by some local party workers bringing bad name to the party. He demanded honesty and strict austerity measures starting from the President and PM down to the lowest level of governance so that trust in the system could be revived and galloping inflation be checked. Speakers including president of the meeting UC Nazim Amirullah, UC Nazim Haider Abbas , Haji Yahya and others echoed and condoned the views of the convener. The meeting concluded with unanimous approval of the views of the speakers.
