Pakistan should mind its own business: Brig. Gupta

Jammu, May 02(Scoop News)- Reacting sharply to the statement of Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff that Kashmir is its “Jugular Vein”, Brig (retd) Anil Gupta, BJP leader has advised the former to first set his own house in order. Pakistan and its Army has no business to interfere in the internal affairs of India. Kashmir is and shall always remain an integral part of India. The entire State of Jammu and Kashmir acceded legally to India on 27th October 1947 when the then ruler Maharaja Hari Singh signed the “Instrument of Accession”. Ever since then Pakistan has cast an evil eye on Kashmir and failed repeatedly to annex it by force, he said.
Brig. Gupta said that it would be prudent for Pakistan to look inwards. As this country has already been halved by the liberation of Bangla Desh in 1971. Humiliating defeat suffered by the Pakistani Army in 1971 was witnessed by the entire world. Later, the miserable defeat it suffered on the heights of Kargil should have been enough for any professional army to realize the obvious. By making such a statement, it appears that General Sharif is trying to revive the sagging morale of its soldiers who are totally disillusioned with their leadership. It is high time Pakistan acts to save itself from further disintegration by internal forces. Brig. Gupta said that there is turmoil in Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The proud Baluchis are fighting for independence while the Khyber Pakhtunkhwalas are up in arms against their continued neglect and drone strikes by the US. The writ of the federal government does not run in FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas). The Sindhis are disillusioned and the Shias in Gilgit-Baltistan are being prosecuted. The atrocities on Shias in the main land and other religious minorities are becoming unbearable day by day. Thus, Pakistan is at the verge of collapse. In fact, some analysts have already started referring to it as a failed state.
Brig. Gupta added the international community is also concerned for two reasons; nuclear weapons and ascendance of non-state actors. Its a serious cause of concern which the Pak government needs to address besides the other burning issues. Thus, it is in the best interest of Pakistan that it should rein in its Chief of Army Staff who rather sabre rattling with India and flogging a dead horse should concentrate on saving the very existence of Pakistan as a nation state.
Brig. Gupta said that Bharatiya Janata Party’s PM nominee, Shri Narendra Modi, has already made it clear that while India desires to have cordial and friendly relations with all its neighbours it would not tolerate brow beating by anybody. Pakistan has been getting away lightly in the past due to weak-kneed policies of the Congress- led UPA governments and now when the days of UPA are numbered, Pakistan and its army is getting nervous with each passing day, which speaks of its frustration.
