Pakistani troops attack Indian forward posts in the Kargil-Drass sector

On Friday, the Pakistani troops attacked Indian forward posts in the Kargil-Drass sector .This attack was first after Kargil war of 1999 and no casualties have been reported so far.

This ceasefire violation by Pakistan is the seventeenth in the last ten days.
On Thursday, mortar shell fired by Pakistani troops injured a civilian in Poonch sector.

On August 10, three days after killing of five Indian jawans in Border Action Team attack in a major ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops attacked several Indian posts and fired 7,000 rounds.

On August 11, there were three incidents of ceasefire violations.

On August 12, Pakistani troops fired on border outposts and Indian posts along Indo-Pak border in Poonch, Kothay Samba and Hamirpur areas. Firing continued till 7.30 AM next day, triggering heavy exchanges in Poonch.

On August 13, two other ceasefire violations were done by Pak troops at Narianpur border in Samba district and in Hamirpur, Balakote and Mankote areas in Poonch sector.
