The newly elected National Assembly is writing history by electing the first-ever female speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly. Dr. Fahmida Mirza has clearly wonby taking 249 votes against her opponent who secured only 70 votes. She is the first-ever elected female speaker in whole Muslim world.
Dr Mirza secured a two-thirds majority in the National Assembly.
Both of the top political parties PPP and PMLN have sent a clear message about the future of President Musharraf and his allies.
Political gurus are expecting a new powerful government in Pakistan without Musharraf.
