The newly elected National Assembly is writing history by electing the first-ever female speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly.  Dr. Fahmida Mirza has  clearly wonby taking 249 votes against her opponent who secured only 70 votes.  She is the first-ever elected female speaker in whole Muslim world.

Dr Mirza secured a two-thirds majority in the National Assembly.

Both of the top political parties PPP and PMLN  have sent a clear message about the future of President Musharraf and his allies.
