Palermo Charged with Assault

Boca Juniors striker Martín Palermo was charged with assaulting a hotel employee at the Intercontinental Hotel in Buenos Aires, establisment that the club stays at prior to every match within the city.

This occured Saturday when the club arrived prior to their match against Lanús.  An employee, who apparently was a River Plate supporter began badgering the player after their loss to Tigre midweek 2-1.  The result left the Xeneizes out of the title hunt.

According to the police report, Palermo reacted violently and hit the employee causing a cut in his eye.  Palermo received a subpoena to appear in court after the World Club Cup.
