Late this morning, the VP running-mate to GOP Presidential nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, was campaigning in Grand Junction, Colorado. Colorado is one of the crucial battleground states for the United States Presidential Election.
While in Grand Junction, Palin continued her offensive against the tax plan offered by Democratic Presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama of Illinois. This has been the main issue that Palin has been attacking Obama on.
At the same time, Obama’s VP running-mate, Senator Joe Biden of Delaware, has consistently attacked Palin for the last few days on her “Pro-America” comment.
So far, Joe Wurzelbacher, known as “Joe the Plumber” has been brought up several times ever since the third and final US Presidential debate. Not long ago, Palin had brought up “Ed the Dairy Man.”
Now, she is using the newest moniker of “Tito the Builder.” This is in reference to a builder named Tito Munoz.
She also used other monikers such as “Phil the Bricklayer” and “Rose the Teacher.”
Palin was using these monikers as examples of people against Obama’s tax plan. From now until Election Day on November 4, we can expect the McCain campaign to continuously attack Obama’s tax plan and label it as “socialist.”
However, it is unknown what effect it will have.
On Sunday, October 19, Colin Powell was on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” where he publicly endorsed Obama. By all means, this is a very powerful and symbolic endorsement for Obama.
Powell attacked Palin’s allegations of Obama’s tax plan. He said that it is not accurate to call Obama’s tax plan as being socialist.
While Palin made monikers for the different people in the different professions, she had one specific moniker reserved for Obama: “Obama the Wealth Spender.”
