Panun Kashmir,hails British Foreign office statement

 Jammu, May 01 (Scoop News) Panun Kashmir, the organization of Kashmiri Pandits today hailed the statement of the British foreign office urging Pakistan to end all external support for violence in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a meeting,chaired by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President-Panun Kashmir said that the recently issued British Foreign office report is a clear indictment of Pakistan for its support to terrorism in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting was among others attended by M.L.Raina, Chairman, Political Affairs Committee, Virender Raina, National Spokesperson, Upinder Kaul, General Secretary, J.L.Kaul, Vice President, Kamal Bagati, Organising Secretary, Ramesh Kaul and Vijay Qazi. Jammu and Kashmir

Ashwani Kumar while addressing the meeting that in its annual report on the issue of human rights and democracy, the foreign office said that the Indian authorities reported continued infiltration across the line of control from Pakistan. This report is reflective of the earlier statement given by the British Prime Minister on his last visit to India that Pakistan is the epicenter of global terrorism.

He said that unfortunately, various global terrorists who are tormenting the civilized world are camping in Pakistan under the ‘benevolent umbrella’ of ISI and enjoying the protection and munificence of Pakistan government. The minorities of Jammu and Kashmir have been at the receiving end of the Pak abetted and supported terror for the last more than two decades and the Kashmiri Pandits have been the worst sufferers of this state policy of Pakistan. Time has come for the government of India to tell Pakistan in clear terms to take action against the presence and activities of terror groups in Pakistan and Pak-occupied Kashmir. Pakistan’s insistence on dialogue while simultaneously encouraging militant groups to act against India must not be allowed. The Indian government also needs to take more proactive steps to wipe out terrorism from its soil and strengthen nationalist forces in Jammu and Kashmir.

Virender Raina, National Spokesperson-PK said that the statement of the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon regarding the ‘wishes of the people’ needs to be seen in the light of the earlier statements of the UN on the subject that the UN Resolutions on Kashmir have no relevance now.  However, the overwhelming sentiment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir is for the complete merger with the union of India and their aspiration needs to be kept in mind.

He said that the people in the Jammu and Ladakh regions, the minority communities of Kashmir and a vast majority of nationalist people in Jammu and Kashmir have always stood against the theocratic and fundamentalist forces and have reposed trust in the Indian constitution and territorial integrity of India. The urges and aspiration of the indigenous people of Kashmir, the Kashmiri Pandits who have been living as refugees in their own country, need to be respected and recognized. The Pandits are the first and natural claimants on the territory of Kashmir and therefore their ‘aspirations and wishes’ have absolute primacy in this regard.
