Paragliding Club wil be open at Chitral DCO Chitral

 

 Paragliding Club will establish at Chitral DCO Mutasim Billah. District Sports Committee meeting held at DCO office.

 

CHITRAL: A meeting of sports committee held here under the chair of District Coordination Officer (DCO) Chitral Mutasim Billah Shah at his office. Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmad Khan, Tehsil Nazim Mastuj Shahzada Sikandarul Mulk who is also president of District Polo Association, and representatives of other sports associations also attended the meeting.  DCO Chitral said that we want to establish here a paragliding Club to attract  paraglide domestic and of the world. He said that Chitral have suitable topographically and geographically places for this purposes. We have state land, which can be used for this purpose. He said that land at Birmogh Lasht is very much suitable for paragliding as foreigner’s paraglide also use it. A camp office for paragliding club will be opened at Booni and main office at Chitral to facilitate willing people. He said Shundoor Polo tournament is our traditional game, which would be enhanced more. He also assured for opening of a sports office at Chitral to guide and supports players of the district. He also assured for compensating and granting of honoraria to polo players as in paste during Mehtir regime of Chitral state. He said there are numerous best football players at Chitral who would be patronized by district government to encourage them for enhancing their sports skill. Besides it football, cricket ground and squash court also will be opened here. As the world paragliding champion who fly from Chitral to Hunza valley at Northern Area and back to Mastuj termed it the best place for paragliding.

 

 The participants complained of non-availability of stadiums and playgrounds at Chitral. Sikandarul Mulk said that I have already offered of free land for playground and stadium but we need fund for construction purposes. They also complained of encroachment in territory of polo grounds by public as well as by some departments. They pointed out polo ground at Ayun that has been occupied and most of its parts under encroachment.  As well as some departments, also have occupied polo ground at Koghuzi. And polo ground of Chitral using of students of a private college. They said that Chitral Association for Mountain Area Tourism (CAMAT) might be motivated and activated for promotion of sports and tourism. They said that polo is a costly game and players of polo should be given allowance for horses. They said that 2% budget has been already earmarked for sports but it is not utilizing. They said that sports were not released to sport office Chitral.

 

DCO also proposed for arranging tour of Chitral polo players to Northern Area and players of NA to Chitral for enhancing mutual understand and harmony. He also announced to celebrate Shundoor Hectic Celebration (SHC) on 28 November for recognition efforts and contribution of best players of the district in a ceremony. Sikandarul Mulk also demanded for probe in 4 million funds for Chitral polo ground and 4 million for Booni polo ground. The participants demanded from Provincial government for releasing fund construction of playgrounds. Tehsil Nazim Sartaj Ahmad Khan assured extending all possible supports. Meanwhile talking to local journalists at his residence Tehsil Nazim Mastuj Sikandarul Mulk said that provincial minister for sports Aqil Shah has promised for granting fund for play grounds and had confirming his statement that this is maxim of Bacha Khan but he not vow his promise despite a long time.

 

Muhammad Wazir Nazim Union Council Yarkhun while leading a delegation of Broghul (the most remote locality situated on Pak Tajikistan border area) briefed DCO Chitral regarding the present vital situation at his constituency. He said that a wooden bridge have been broken at Brep village as a result vehicular traffic suspended on that road. And transportation of edible things is not possible in present scenario.  He demanded for early construction of the bridge. DCO assured the delegation for solving of their problems on priority basis.
